Hej! One of my favorite relatives is August Heinrich Euler. In the Euler Book you can find his story on page 155.
His story begins: “ I had no time for the school desk”, he said, but continued to study intensively from books, particularly mathematics, philosophy, and the commercial law of the
European states. He did that while he was travelling through Europe and Russia.
Following his father’s wish, he became involved in graphic art at the age of 14 to
17 years, as he had drawing skills. But this profession did not appeal to him. He was a
soldier from 1885 to 1888 and then became a technical merchant in
Cologne, from 1888 to 1892. In 1893, he was a successful racing cyclist and race car driver, inventor ... He was a true Entrepreneur and aeronaut.
